Everything You Need To Know About Non-Toxic Skin Care (Full Routine)
I am a BIG fan of non toxic products. Having a non toxic skincare routine is essential for maintaining healthy skin, but it can be challenging to know where to start. With so many products on the market, it can be overwhelming to choose which ones are safe and effective. In this article, we’ll explore some of the best non toxic skincare products that I’ve found over years of switching to a non-toxic skin care routine, and how to incorporate them into your daily skin care.
In general, non-toxic skin care refers to skincare products that are formulated without potentially harmful or toxic ingredients.
When made with natural, organic, and safe synthetic ingredients, these are products that are gentle on the skin and free from substances known to cause harm or irritation.
In general, the term “non-toxic” in skincare emphasizes the avoidance of ingredients such as parabens, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, formaldehyde, and other chemicals commonly found in traditional skincare products. These ingredients have been linked to various health concerns, including skin irritation, hormonal disruption, and even cancer in some cases.
Non-toxic skincare products prioritize the use of clean, sustainable, and ethically sourced ingredients that nourish and support the skin’s natural functions.
Understanding Skin care Routines:
Have you ever listed to a podcast and heard that you HAVE to apply this serum after this moisturizer, and wish you wrote it all down? ME TOO! Here’s the steps to a skincare routine, simplified.
Morning Skincare Routine:
First, kickstart your day with a gentle cleanse, followed by toning to prep your skin. Apply superfood and vitamin C serums to protect and brighten your complexion, concluding with moisturization to lock in hydration.
Night-time Skincare Routine:
Wind down by removing makeup and cleansing your face, integrating exfoliation as needed. First, tone your skin (before indulging in superfood serum application), and seal the deal with a hydrating moisturizer.
In my skincare routine, I reserve evenings for a relaxing face mask session, allowing my skin to rejuvenate and replenish overnight. I do this 1-2 times a week.
Honestly, I religiously follow my skincare routine both morning and night to ensure optimal skin health and vitality. It has made such a big difference in my skin!
Let’s Dive Into Your Non-Toxic Skin care Routine:
Creating a non-toxic skincare routine is key for nurturing healthy and radiant skin. However, navigating the sea of skincare products can feel overwhelming.
I know for me – it took me years of research to figure out the correct order of skincare products.
Here’s the best way to incorporate non toxic skin care products into your routine, step by step.
Non Toxic Skincare Routine:
Step 1: Cleanser
The first step in any skincare routine is to cleanse your skin thoroughly. Look for a gentle cleanser that’s free from harsh chemicals like sulfates and parabens. The Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is a great option that’s both affordable and effective. It’s free from fragrances and is gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin types.
Alternatively, Fresh Soy Face Cleanser is a great option – formulated with all-natural ingredients like soy proteins and rosewater.
Exfoliating with a gentle cleanser 2-3 times a week helps unclog pores and promote skin cell turnover for a clearer complexion.
Combatting clogged pores requires gentle exfoliation and non-comedogenic products to maintain skin clarity.
Step 2: Toner
Next, it’s essential to balance your skin’s pH levels with a toner. Look for a toner that’s alcohol-free and doesn’t contain any synthetic fragrances. The Thayers Witch Hazel Toner is an excellent option that’s gentle and effective. Formulated with all-natural witch hazel and aloe vera, it helps to soothe and calm the skin.
Another great option is the Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner, which is formulated with rose petals and hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump the skin.
Step 3: Serum
Next up is Serum. Some people (like me) don’t always need to use toner. Instead, my facialist recommended I use an antioxidant serum after I cleanse before I moisturize.
Serums are a great way to target specific skincare concerns, like fine lines and wrinkles, dark spots, and uneven skin tone.
Overall, serums formulated with natural and organic ingredients like vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and plant-based antioxidants are the best. The OSEA Vitamin C Probiotic Face Polish is an excellent option that’s formulated with all-natural ingredients like pomegranate enzymes and jojoba beads. It’s gentle enough to use every day and helps to brighten and exfoliate the skin.
Another great option is the Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil. It’s formulated with plant-based squalane and vitamin C to hydrate and brighten the skin.
Applying a small amount of product allows for better absorption and prevents overwhelming the skin.
One of my all time favorite serum’s is Osea’s Hyaluronic Sea Serum. I carry this with me everywhere and use it throughout the day whenever my face needs a quick refresh/ pick me up!
Step 4: Moisturizer
A good moisturizer is essential for keeping your skin hydrated and healthy. Look for a moisturizer that’s free from synthetic fragrances and harsh chemicals like parabens and phthalates. The First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream is an excellent option that’s formulated with all-natural ingredients like colloidal oatmeal and shea butter. It’s deeply hydrating and great for dry, sensitive skin.
Alternatively, the Herbivore Pink Cloud Rosewater Moisture Cream is a luxurious option that’s formulated with all-natural ingredients like rosewater and aloe vera. This is my favorite moisturizer these days!
Step 5: Sunscreen
Finally, no skincare routine is complete without sunscreen. Look for a sunscreen that’s free from harmful chemicals like oxybenzone and octinoxate. The Suntegrity Natural Moisturizing Face Sunscreen & Primer is a great option that’s formulated with all-natural ingredients like green tea and pomegranate extract. It’s lightweight and non-greasy, making it perfect for everyday wear.
Face oils:
Personally, I put my face oils on after moisturizer, before sunscreen. Struggling with dry skin, I rely on hydrating moisturizers and oils to restore moisture and suppleness.
Genuinely, I rely on face oils to lock in moisture and protect my skin barrier from environmental stressors.
A few drops of facial oil, rich in antioxidants and essential nutrients, provide nourishment and hydration to my skin during the day when I’m on the go, too!
Transitioning to a natural skincare routine has been transformative, allowing me to embrace clean beauty practices.

Love love love this article! I need to try Osea products and the LED mask 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
The LED mask looks so freaky ha ha! I am intrigued to try it though. I’m loving my face roller too, I have the jade one. I like to stick it in the fridge so it’s cold when I use it; feels amazing 🙂
