Sustainable Fashion – Shop My Favorite Sustainable Finds
As a passionate advocate for sustainable living, I am always on the lookout for eco-friendly and ethically made clothing that not only looks great but also aligns with my values. In today’s post, I’m thrilled to share some of my favorite sustainable finds for both everyday wear and athletic wear.
Sustainable Fashion: The Future of Style
Fashion has long been a means of self-expression, creativity, and identity. It can convey personality, emotion, and status. But the fashion industry has also been a major contributor to the world’s environmental and social issues. The fast fashion industry, which produces cheap clothing at a rapid pace, has a significant impact on the environment through the production and disposal of clothing. Moreover, it often exploits workers, particularly those in developing countries, who are paid very low wages and work in poor conditions. Fortunately, there is a solution to these problems: sustainable fashion.
Sustainable fashion, also known as eco-fashion or ethical fashion, refers to clothing, shoes, and accessories that are produced in an environmentally and socially responsible way. This includes using sustainable materials, reducing waste, conserving water and energy, and ensuring fair labor practices. Sustainable fashion is about creating beautiful and durable products that are both fashionable and responsible.
Favorite Sustainable Brands for Everyday Wear:
ABLE: ABLE is a brand focused on ending generational poverty by providing economic opportunities for women. Their stylish, sustainable clothing is made from eco-friendly materials, like organic cotton and TENCEL™.
I absolutely love The Merley Jacket by Able – it’s become my go-to outerwear option for any occasion.
Made with organic cotton and recycled polyester, this jacket is not only environmentally conscious, but also durable and stylish.
Nisolo: Nisolo is an ethical footwear brand that prioritizes sustainability and social impact. Their beautiful shoes, like the Mariella Mule, are crafted with responsibly sourced leather and produced in a factory committed to fair wages and working conditions.
Madewell: Madewell’s commitment to sustainability includes using eco-friendly materials and ethical manufacturing processes. One of my favorite pieces is their Button-Wrap Midi Dress, made from TENCEL™ lyocell, which is both soft and sustainable.
Pact: Pact is a leading brand in sustainable fashion that has made significant strides in promoting ethical labor practices and environmentally friendly production methods. The company’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its use of organic cotton, recycled polyester, and other sustainable materials in its clothing.
Antique Rings:
By opting for vintage jewelry, you contribute to reducing the demand for newly mined metals and gemstones.
I absolute love a good antique ring! They are classy, they are beautiful – and they help you reduce your carbon footprint.
Athletic Wear:
Veja: Veja is a sustainable sneaker brand that uses eco-friendly materials like organic cotton, wild rubber, and recycled plastic bottles in their designs. Their V-10 sneakers are a perfect combination of style and sustainability, making them a must-have for any conscious fashionista.
Girlfriend Collective: Girlfriend Collective is an eco-friendly activewear brand that uses recycled materials, such as post-consumer water bottles, in their innovative and stylish athletic wear. Their Paloma Bra and High-Rise Pocket Leggings are not only sustainable but also provide excellent support and comfort during workouts.
Right now, my go-to leggings are the Girlfriend Collection’s Black Compression Leggings.
