Why a Valentine’s Day Advent?

Valentine’s Day holds a special place in many hearts—it’s a day filled with pink, sparkles, and an abundance of love! For me, it marks a day where my boyfriend and I always make sure to celebrate ourselves, and I love celebrating that. Plus, who can resist all the adorable heart-shaped decorations and treats?

While browsing through Pottery Barn Kids, I stumbled upon the most adorable Mickey Valentines Day Advent Calendar. It was beautifully crafted, personalized, and oh-so-perfect for the occasion. Seeing its quality sparked an idea—I wanted to create a 14 day countdown to Valentine’s Day for my son, Mason!

Creating the Countdown To Valentines Day

I kept the countdown simple yet exciting. Some days featured candy, while others included a little extra surprise (such as a scavenger hunt note to bring him somewhere else to find his prize for that day). Instead of one big Valentine’s Day basket, I spread the gifts out over the 14 days.

What’s Inside The Valentines Day Advent Calendar for kids?

For each day, I included something fun like the following:

  1. Kid Affirmation Cards: A daily dose of positivity for Mason, which he loved collecting.
  2. Candy or Chocolate Bars: A Valetines special candy or treat that satisfies the sweet tooth.
  3. Red Bubble Wands: Perfect for outdoor play and adding to the festive atmosphere.

In addition to these essentials, I sometimes put scavenger hunt notes for Mason to follow. These led him to somewhere else in the house where I had a surprise waiting for him. From heart-shaped PJs to bigger valentines day cards, each gift added to the excitement of the countdown.
