Habits, by definition are a settled or regular tendency or practice.

Habits are the back bone to any change you wish to make in your life. Whether its weight loss, self confidence, strengthening relationships, being more productive, or starting a new business, all of these goals start with changing your daily habits

Here’s 7 daily habits to implement to help improve your overall well-being and quality of life!

1. Develop A Morning Routine

With a morning routine, you start the day right, improve your productivity, and lower your stress levels right from the start of your day.

Studies have shown that simply staying offline in the morning is a great way to use your time wisely and an essential part of a healthy morning. What you do with that time, instead of scrolling, can improve your entire day!

Make a to do list for the day? Take a cold shower, relax? Have a mindful cup of coffee while focusing on something positive? The choices of a morning routine are yours and are flexible- put implementing one daily can greatly improve your life.

2. Eat healthy.

Eating healthy food nourishes the brain and protects it from oxidative stress, proving that what you eat can have a huge effect on how you are. Studies from Harvard University have found a distinct correlation between a diet high in refined sugars and impaired brain function — and even a worsening of symptoms of mood disorders, such as depression.

Eat something live (fresh fruit or vegetables) every day!

3. Move your body

Experts recommend exercising at least three times a week to maintain good health.

You don’t need to be a fitness fanatic to enjoy the physical and mental benefits of movement. Moving your body is a wonderful way to release stress, boost your mood, and improve health.

Exercising causes endorphins to be released, which are the “happy” chemicals in the brain.

Exercise is proven to elevate your mood, while also providing the many proven health benefits that come with working out. The health benefits are huge! For example, we all want a healthy heart. Exercising daily proves a reduced risk of cardiac disease, depression, weight gain, diabetes, certain types of cancers, and even premature death.

4. Sit silently for five minutes

Meditation allows people to take charge of their own nervous system and emotions.

According to a Huffington Post article, “studies have shown improved ability to regulate emotions in the brain”. 


Meditation reduces, stress, helps with anxiety, enhances self-awareness, and can even length your attention span. Finding even just 5 minutes a day to sit with yourself and practice meditation can improve your over all well-being greatly!

5. Use a planner

Using a planner helps you to manage your time, and time management leads to more productivity. Planners help you to stay on track with each individual task you need to complete, and encourages you to move on to the next one effectively and efficiently.

Many of us could actually “find” more time if we scheduled our tasks and our time more effectively. Utilizing a planner will help you be organized, and find more time for the things that are important for you!

6. Practice Mindfulness

Mindfulness can help quiet your thoughts, relieve anxiety, and relax muscle tension. When you are stressed, it can be hard to focus on the present moment and if you have racing thoughts, the idea of meditation might sound impossi

ble. Don’t worry, just 5 minutes of quiet to focus on your breathing can prepare you to face the day or help you to have more restful sleep.

7. Find Gratitude

So many of our thoughts can be focused on the negative which can affect the way we feel. Did you know with practice you can learn to change how you are thinking and feeling? 

Studies have shown being grateful can help increase positive thoughts and attitudes helping us actually feel happier and enjoy better relationships. There are many simple ways to find gratitude, even for the things you may not think are great.
